The Color Shifting Pants

Hey Visitor, In this Action Project we learned about the last Unit in this class which was Light. The light portion of this class had a lot of math and history. We were asked the question of how we would define time, then learned the general anatomy of the planet regarding where the Equator is, the north pole, and south pole. After that we looked at the history of devices that used the aspects of the Earth like the Sun in order to tell time. The devices we looked at were from the ancient past and we then followed the pivotal scientific discoveries during that era to see how it progressed forward. The devices went from the sundial and chronologically progressed to the digital time on our phones. During the following of these scientific discoveries we learned the math behind every device that required it. So we learned how sailors used navigational devices to figure out their coordinates and the formulas that came with that. So a way that was used for not knowing your coordinates was subtracting 90 from the sun’s angle which then gave you your latitude. A way of figuring out longitude was knowing the time difference between the time zone you’re in and GMT which you then instill in your head the rule that every hour is 15 degrees and every degree is 4 minutes. Throughout this whole course we had the entire class represent a chapter from the 3 books: Einstein’s Dreams, E=Mc^2, and A Brief History of Time. They all pertained to the physicist Albert Einstein and his life. Where we give a mini lesson on the Chapter they chose. Giving a summary of the chapter and one thing that stood out the most in the chapter; After all of the students gave their mini lessons we were met with the challenge of creating a new time telling device with the intent of selling it to the public. I chose the vibrant idea of color changing pants in the sun. This would hypothetically work in the case that I have minerals that  could be woven into the material of the pants causing it to change color or having UV  reactive ink all over the pants.                      
I think the hardest part about this project was the video itself since it took a really long to get finished in amount of time I had, but I think it was worth it in the end. I think if I just did a voice over or the video would've got done way faster, but I think the need to try something different was too tempting for me especially with projects pertaining to videos.

  Drama is a class that talks about the challenges and norms of gender roles, and how these gender roles can be challenged with the use of theater.       In this term of drama, we discussed the roles gender plays in the Shakespeare play, The Tragedy of  Macbeth . The MOVIE BOT IS ALIVE

 Hi Visitor, In my Intro to Coding class we were asked to make a chat bot, with 5 total questions using booleans and other aspects of coding. Before this project we learned about Boolean meanings and if statements. We learned how to format if statements, elif statements, and how to use if statements in certain situations. After we learned this we proceeded to work on the Action Project. I made a chatbot that'll talk about movies and has a keen liking to Spiderman.   It was my best project so far, but there were some challenges in the way. Like the formatting of having multiple if statements, multiple answers, and the biggest issue was the multiple combinations that could be typed in the movie genre question. Besides those problems the project was a pretty smooth process since I had a clear goal of what I wanted and not having to do as much improvisation.

The Alien Pseudocode

Hi Visitor, For the First Action project in code we were asked to make a pseudocode of a game. Due to this being an introductory project we did a group activity where we got into 2 small groups and one person had to be blindfolded and essentially go through a course based on the directions we as a group chose to write down and say to the blinded partner. This helped us give a sense of how a computer would think since we removed the senses that would give people an intuition to easily go through the small course that was set up. I did my project on the classic game "Space Invaders" and this is my attempt to make a Pseudo code of it.  The hardest part for me was trying to find the right words and breaking down the game to a level where I can find words that I think the computer would understand.
